Cineverse Hastings Cinema & Eatery Website Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Cineverse Hastings website and the purchase of tickets, goods, services, and Cineverse VIP Card membership benefits.

By using this website or purchasing tickets, goods, or services from Cineverse Hastings, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
1. Use of Website
You agree to use this website lawfully and in accordance with these Terms.You must not:
• Use the website for unlawful purposes
• Interfere with website operations
• Upload harmful or malicious content
• Attempt unauthorised access to systems or data
Cineverse Hastings may suspend or restrict access to the website at any time if misuse is suspected.
2. Personal Information
You may be required to provide personal information when purchasing tickets or registering for membership. All personal information is handled in accordance with applicable New Zealand privacy laws. While Cineverse Hastings takes reasonable steps to protect information, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure.
3. Ticket Purchases
Tickets may be purchased online or in person. Tickets may be collected by:
• Presenting the booking confirmation
• Presenting the payment method used
• Displaying a digital ticket confirmation
A booking fee of $1 per ticket applies to online purchases. Maximum ticket quantities per transaction may be limited to prevent fraud. All ticket prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars and include GST where applicable.
4. Session Changes and Film Substitution
Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to:
• Change session times
• Cancel sessions
• Substitute films
• Modify programming
These changes may occur without prior notice where necessary. Where a session is cancelled, Cineverse Hastings may provide:
• A replacement ticket
• A credit
• A refund
as determined by Cineverse Hastings.
5. Technical Failures
If a technical failure occurs during a session, Cineverse Hastings may provide:
• A replacement ticket
or
• A refund
at its discretion.
Technical failures may include but are not limited to:
• Projection failure
• Audio failure
• Power outages
• Equipment malfunction
6. Late Arrival Policy
Entry may be refused to patrons arriving more than 30 minutes after the scheduled session start time.
No refunds or exchanges will be provided for late arrival.
7. Behaviour and Right to Refuse Entry
Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to:
• Refuse entry to any person
• Remove patrons behaving in a disruptive, unsafe, offensive, or unlawful manner
No refund will be provided to any person removed for behavioural reasons.
8. Film Classification and Identification
Entry to restricted films requires valid identification.
If valid ID is not presented where required, entry may be refused.
No refund will be provided if entry is refused due to failure to provide identification.
9. Allocated Seating
Cineverse Hastings operates an allocated seating system. Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to change assigned seating if operationally required. Where seating changes occur, equivalent seating will be provided where possible.
10. Outside Food and Beverages
Outside food and beverages are not permitted.
The only exception is sealed bottles of water.
Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to refuse entry where outside food or beverages are brought into the premises.
11. Pricing Errors
If a pricing or system error results in incorrect ticket pricing or availability, Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to:
• Cancel the affected transaction
• Refund any payment made
12. Refunds and Exchanges
Tickets are generally non-refundable and non-transferable except where required by law or where determined by Cineverse Hastings under:
• Session cancellation
• Technical failure
• Operational circumstances
These refunds will be transferred to your Cineverse account as user credit or added to a cineverse gift card if the customer doesn't have a user account with Cineverse Hastings.
13. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers issued by Cineverse Hastings:
• Are valid for 3 years from date of purchase
• Cannot be exchanged for cash
• Cannot be replaced if lost or stolen
• May not be used for special events unless specified
• Are subject to session availability
14. Special Events
Special Events may include:
• Q&A screenings
• Private bookings
• Festival films
• Ladies Night events
• Limited or promotional screenings
Certain promotions and discounts may not apply to Special Events.
15. Cineverse VIP Card Membership
15.1 Membership Eligibility
Cineverse VIP Card membership is available to individuals aged 16 years or older. Membership is free to join. Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or cancel membership at its discretion.
15.2 VIP Ticket Discount
VIP members receive: $1.50 off standard adult tickets. The VIP discount:
• Applies to Adult tickets only
• Applies online and at the ticket counter
• Cannot be combined with other discounts
• Does not apply to Special Events
• Applies only where the VIP discount is shown as available on the ticketing page
15.3 Birthday Ticket
VIP members are eligible to receive: One free standard movie ticket. The Birthday Ticket:
• Must be used within 7 days before or 30 days after the member’s birthday
• Is valid for standard sessions only
• Is not valid for Special Events
• Cannot be exchanged for cash
• Cannot be transferred.
Birthday Tickets may not be issued to members who join fewer than 7 days before their birthday.
15.4 Points Programme
VIP members earn points as follows: $1 spent = 1 VIP point. Points may be redeemed for selected items that display a points redemption value.
Points may be redeemed for select:
• Standard Movie tickets
• Popcorn
• Ice cream
• Soft drink combos
Points:
• Have no cash value
• Cannot be transferred
• Cannot be exchanged for cash
Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to modify or withdraw points benefits at any time.
15.5 VIP Benefits Changes
Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to:
• Modify VIP benefits
• Introduce new benefits
• Withdraw existing benefits
Changes may occur at any time.
16. Lost Property
Lost property items will be held for 7 days. Items not collected within 7 days may be disposed of. Cineverse Hastings accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged property.
17. CCTV and Security
CCTV surveillance operates in foyer and auditorium areas for safety and security purposes. By entering the premises, you acknowledge that CCTV recording may occur.
18. Health and Safety
All patrons must follow instructions provided by Cineverse Hastings staff. Patrons must comply with emergency procedures when required. Entry to the premises is at your own risk.
19. Force Majeure
Cineverse Hastings is not liable for failure or delay in performing obligations where such failure results from events beyond reasonable control, including:
• Power failures
• Equipment failure
• Natural disasters
• Weather events
• Government restrictions
• Supplier failures
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cineverse Hastings is not liable for:
• Loss of income
• Loss of data
• Loss of personal property
• Indirect or consequential loss
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under applicable New Zealand consumer law.
21. Consumer Guarantees
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable New Zealand laws.
22. Changes to Terms
Cineverse Hastings reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will apply from the date they are published on the website.
